Classical Chinese

The {{w|written Chinese}} language used from the {{w|Zhou Dynasty}} (1045 {{B.C.E.}}) (especially the {{w|Spring and Autumn Period}}), through to the end of the {{w|Han Dynasty}} (220 {{C.E.}}). In Chinese, {{term|??||Ancient Writing|lang=zh|sc=Hani}} or, formally, {{term|????||Classical Chinese|lang=zh|sc=Hani}}. The language of many classics of Chinese literature.
