brick veneer

{{Australia|architecture}} A type of house construction which uses a timber frame for its structure (ie. the roof is held up by timber framing) but has bricks built up around the outside walls. The idea is to give the solid look of a brick building, but with a cheaper construction of merely decorative brickwork.
